RALEIGH, N.C. - The Greater Raleigh Convention & Visitors Bureau (GRCVB) has officially opened the Greater Raleigh Visitor Information Center, located within the Raleigh City Museum. The museum, located at 220 Fayetteville Street, provides convenient street level access for residents and visitors to gather information on Wake County's dynamic hospitality community.
The Visitor Information Center is a collaborative effort between the Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Raleigh City Museum. The museum is graciously donating the space while the GRCVB is staffing the center. This new center will provide
visitors an invaluable resource to finding information on restaurants, accommodations attractions and events throughout Wake County.
"With more than 11 million visitors coming to Raleigh generating an economic impact of $1.3 Billion in direct spending each year, along with the opening of the Raleigh Convention Center in September, we felt that we needed to ensure that visitors and convention delegates alike could find information on the area," said Denny Edwards, president and CEO of the GRCVB.
Development has exploded throughout the county, particularly with a revitalization of real estate, entertainment and restaurants in downtown Raleigh. Once recognized primarily as a government town, Raleigh has become known internationally as a world-class destination, boasting museums, best of Broadway shows and concerts, historic sites, the finest shopping, and world-champion professional and amateur sports.
